I am an Aboriginal Elder of the Githabul and Bundjalung Nations in Northern New South Wales.

I was born and raised in the communities of Muli Muli (Woodenbong) and Casino, within the traditional lands of the Githabul and Bundjalung people. I have lived and worked in these communities for more than 60 years.

I attended Casino Public School and then Casino High School before my family moved back to Muli Muli. I completed my secondary education at Woodenbong Central School.

Growing up in these communities was a blessing. I was guided by my mother and respected Elders who taught me the importance of culture, community, respect, and traditional values.

They instilled in me the responsibility to care for others, honour our cultural heritage, and always place our Creator first in our daily lives for guidance, strength, and protection.

Today, I am honoured to serve as an Elder and to represent the Githabul and Bundjalung people. It is a privilege to contribute to my community, uphold our cultural values, and support future generations.

After leaving school, I worked alongside family and community members in seasonal employment across New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria.
Wanting to further my education, I returned to TAFE and completed my Year 10 Certificate. I then undertook additional training while building my career in community services.

Throughout my working life, I have held positions with:
• Casino Corrective Services
• Court Support Services
• Casino Aboriginal Medical Service

I spent more than 20 years working as an Aboriginal Health Worker, supporting individuals, families, and communities across New South Wales.
In addition to my health work, I have served as a Community Consultant and represented Aboriginal men at both State and National Men’s Groups, advocating for the wellbeing and interests of Aboriginal communities.

This is a brief overview of my life, history, and journey. The experiences, teachings, and opportunities I have received throughout my life have shaped who I am today and continue to guide my commitment to community, culture, and service. As a Board member of GNAC I look forward to working with our Githabul members, community and stakeholders as we work to progress the interests of our people to secure the future for generations to come.
