Who We Are
Githabul Nation Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC is the Registered Native Title Body Corporate for Githabul People. We hold responsibilities connected to native title, the Githabul Indigenous Land Use Agreement, cultural authority, caring for Country and supporting the social, emotional, cultural and economic wellbeing of our People now and for future generations.
Our Role
- Represents native title rights and interests
- Holds cultural authority within the Githabul ILUA area
- Supports the social, emotional, cultural and economic wellbeing of Githabul/Gullibul People
- Protects and preserves Githabul LORE, language, songlines, sacred sites and cultural heritage
- Works to protect and care for Country
- Engages with government, partners and stakeholders
- Works under the authority of the GNAC Rule Book, Board and native title responsibilities
- Lead by the Githabul people and our Elders.
Native Title, Cultural Authority and the ILUA
GNAC’s role is grounded in the recognition of Githabul native title rights and interests. The Githabul Indigenous Land Use Agreement is an important agreement connected to Country, cultural heritage, consultation, land management and ongoing relationships with government and other parties.
GNAC works to support the proper implementation of native title and ILUA responsibilities, protect cultural authority and care for Country.
Governance, Accountability and Members
GNAC is registered under the Corporations Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Act 2006, known as the CATSI Act.
GNAC reports to the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations and operates under its Rule Book and Board governance.

Most importantly, GNAC answers to its members and to all Githabul/Gullibul direct descendants of recognised Githabul/Gullibul apical ancestors.
